Having participated in the Blitzkrieg manouvers through Poland and France, Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler was expanded from a regiment-sized unit to a full-strength Brigade just before the invasion. These fearsome troops were incredibly loyal to the cause - professional and well-trained, they proved to be a key element of the SS push across the border.
