Anglo-Zulu War

The Anglo-Zulu War was fought in 1879 between the British Empire and the Zulu Kingdom.

The British - keen to further their Empire in both size and wealth, established several colonies on the border with Zululand. Tensions between the two soon arose - reaching a head at the British mission station at Rorkes Drift. Immortalised on the big screen, this clash saw a British garrison of 140 men - many of them sick and wounded - fight for 12 hours to repel repeated attacks by up to 3,000 Zulu warriors.
