This simple on room building was typical of dwellings built by both the Middle Eastern Arabs and the North African Arabs during the middle ages. Even today it is not uncommon to find rural dwellings in North Africa or the Middle East with the only difference being a satellite dish or on occasions an air conditioning unit. Made from a mixture of straw and earth mud, these walls have been rendered with two or more coats of “teen” to prevent weathering. The internal ground floor was usually earthen though the threshold could be of stone paving. Wood was not often a common local material. Doors were usually wooden, but could also be woven cane.
Box set includes one highly detailed 28mm pre painted scenery kit.
