Piggery Information

These joined Cart-shed and Piggery are typical of the sorts of smaller ancillary buildings that you would find in a farm yard or even lean-too against a barn or house.  The piggery could just as easily be work sheds or store rooms (we call these the piggery as this is what they were known as at La Haye Sainte from where we got inspiration for this particular grouping of outbuildings),  but the cart sheds with their open front are rather more distinctive.  Carts were housed in open fronted sheds when not in use as this would greatly prolong the life of the vehicle, from the effect of the elements.
