This soldier is part of the Spanish Royal Guard, an independent unit in the Spanish Armed Forces dedicated to the military protection of the King of Spain and members of the Spanish Royal Family. The majority of their work involves participating in parades and other ceremonial events, despite this they are still a fully functioning combat unit combined of a mixture of all three branches of the Spanish Armed Forces.
