Zombies are the rotting, shambling corpses of the recently dead, plucked from their rightful rest by the foul machinations of necromancy. Ghouls are not strictly walking dead, like skeletons or zombies, but rather deranged cannibals and eaters of the dead. They slowly lose their minds to the horror of their lives, degenerating into savage creatures that are half-human, half-undead.
