During the 31st Millennium, at the peak of the Emperor's Great Crusade to conquer the galaxy in humanity's name, Warmaster Horus did the unthinkable and betrayed his father The Emperor of Mankind. Allying himself with the Ruinous Powers, Warmaster Horus convinced half of his brother Primarchs and their Space Marine Legions to betray their oaths and make war upon the Emperor and his loyal sons.

Housing an honoured marine beyond normal medical healing, the pilot is physically attuned to the dreadnought's equipment, making them efficient weapons of war on the battlefield. Standing taller than most other dreadnoughts, the Saturnine pattern employs medium-range weapons capable of levelling entire squads of marines and heavy support.
